We’ve got about a month to go until the full release of the new Tycho full length, Dive (out digital Oct. 25 / physical Nov. 15), but iTunes has the pre-order up now at a discount. I’m putting together a preview track with snippets from all the songs on the album, should be posting that in the coming weeks.
An original Graphics Standards Manual from 1976 when NASA transitioned to the “worm logo” (more info). Love the car graphics, was waiting for something on The Shuttle but then realized it was just a concept when this manual was written. Maybe it’s just an American thing, but is this not the most iconic logo ever?
Starfawn is a avant synth project from Vermont natives Misha and Amber. Their style seems to be the best i’ve heard in the post-goth scramble thats going on. Tons of NES and SNES chipped out chunks collapsing into melodies while the vocals reach whimsical levels that serenade and melt the diverse sounds into one pleasing piece of work. Download this song for free on their mini site.
Beef Terminal comes from the Lefse/Waaga camp, dwelling in the Slowdive/Bvdub areas then gently raising out into the open with beats up front, this project definitely has potential and vision for a good live show for the lovers that drift in and out of euphoric sessions when they listen to music.
Went back to this Gang Gang Dance album, here’s the long cut, such a rewarding listen.
I’m expecting one of the best releases from Scandinavia with this Korallreven album, here’s our first taste, seems like the guys went for it, some pop intentions in there that don’t hurt, in love with piano part towards the end, can’t wait for the rest.

Star Axis is “an architectonic earth/star sculpture” (detailed info here) by American artist Charles Ross. Conceived in 1971 and began in 1976, Star Axis — located on a Mesa in New Mexico — is scheduled for completion in 2013. Sadly there aren’t a whole lot of photos of this incredible structure out there. I guess I’ll have to take a trip down to Mesa.
Toro y Moi has a new EP out and it’s chalked full of funk with a house appeal, personally loving this one the most.
Tornado Wallace makes tracks for DJs, nice long cuts that are perfect for cueing in and mixing together, he perfected this Cut Copy cut.
Benoit & Sergio do the best club remixes, soo many other artists edits fall my the waist side because there usually one trick ponies or follow a formula or just copy others. Benoit & Sergio have there own thing going, full of detail and not trying to fake the hype.
ON SIDE NOTE: Head over to the ISO50 turntable.fm room, click it and listen to other ISO50 readers DJ this weekend, we will be scheduling a few listening sessions and guest DJs soon.
Loving this new song and video from Beirut. The video is by Sunset Television. I don’t know much about them but I remember someone telling me they were a student collective from Columbia (could totally be making that up though). Anyways, loving the humor and aesthetic; very fitting.
We’re happy to be able to share this new track from Braille aka Sepalcure/Praveen, i’ve been trying to follow all the Braille material, it grabs my ear soo quickly. Its honestly that perfect blend that brings elements of what I love in tribal/house to the dancefloor in less of a world music way but more in a everyone is invited to enjoy it way, support by purchasing it here
Foxes In Fiction just leaked his live version of Jimi Bleachball, a definite favorite last year, grab it here for free from his tumblr.
I’m a sucker for most Quantec tracks, once i’m a couple minutes in, it becomes THE sound that I want to hear for the rest of the day. You should grab up some of his music and make a playlist for tonight.
New Onra and its longer than 3 minutes? don’t write it off this has potential, its riding a thin line of Easy Listening but with the Onra touch, some might call this dated but i’m calling it skillful, really impressed even though I don’t have much experience in knowing this sounds history.
