I picked up the new copy of Dwell earlier this month, there is a great article about rethinking the trailer park style living that is pretty interesting for prefab home buyers(some of you probably just had chills going down your back just thinking about). The reason I picked up a copy initially was this article on Jamie Darnell’s home, I love everything about the outside of it even down the address numbers on the side of the house(which for some reason i can’t find anywhere, you’ll just have to see it for yourself).

It is a wonderful house and its location on a bluff in Kansas City overlooking downtown makes it that much better! Oddly I will be visiting old friends in KC Nov. 1st when Tycho is playing in Clearwater where I currently live!

Like the overall ook, not that sold on the unfinished concrete base.

Looks like a bit of a nightmare for a wheelchair user or elderly visiting relative?

The trees are giving it a real lift too.

I live in KC and I love this house. There are many similar modern houses around this area.

The reason you cannot find the house numbers is because they are painted on the house with an orange paint.

I hope it never snows too heavily there :)

I usually don’t like modern-looking architecture for a home…it always seems cold and sterile to me. But this one is different – the brown paint and lighting balance out the clean lines. Very nice!
