Here are the lesser-known photos from NASA’s Apollo program, too sun-burned or out-of-focus to make it to mainstream, uncovered after many hours of browsing the Apollo Archive.
For more NASA related inspiration, check out the NASA tag. As an added bonus, here’s Neil Armstrong serving you some cake:
Seems like everyone hounds Four Tet for everything and he has to explain himself instead of just being able to release it. Here’s him sampling Grimes and later he had to explain it wasn’t official, its a rip so there’s some radio interference.
2 weird guys make a great collab, here’s Caribou and DJ Koze, its like Arthur Russell being channeled through a stripped down old Hot Chip track.
I had the opportunity to remix one of my favorite songs from last year, check out the others remixes from Luke from Born Ruffians and Doldrums, all free downloads. Just a small note i’ve been listening to A LOT of Underworld “Jumbo“.
Evenings hums out a glimpse of sun on the face for us, with a taste of what I hope spring sounds like.
I stumbled on Benoit Paillé the other day and was so totally captivated by his photography. Each photo tells a detailed story.
I think that photography doesn’t represent reality, but creates it.
In this series he used a plastic light square with 300 LED lights that were linked to a dimmer. He used fishing line to hang it from the trees. I’m not sure how he got it to hover over the dirt and rocks.
My approach towards landscape is to incorporate a poetical component that will trigger an emotional response linked to the form and the light. I wanted to create something that wasn’t really a landscape but rather something engineered, so as to move the viewer in a different way.
Coming down to the last few days before the release of the new PVT LP, ISO50 readers are the first to appreciate the beauty of the final track off Homosapien. “Ziggurat” is a perfect closer for an album that represents new achievements for the band’s sound but still holding very true to their talents of making intricate music seem effortless.

I wanted to do a little shameless plug here for my new project/adventure I’m attempting. In March 2013, I’ll be heading to the east coast where I will dip my feet in the Atlantic and keep walking westward until my feet soak in the Pacific.
That’s right, I’m walking across America and I’m inviting people to follow my new blog as I journal, photograph and record my journey. And no, I’m not Forest Gump’ing.
I’ll also be doing exclusive posts here at ISO50 when I get the chance. One of my objectives is to interview local American artists and photograph them and their works. So if anyone who reads this blog knows an awesome artist of any discipline that’s along my route please contact me!
Brandon Shaefer does some incredibly well executed takes on old movie posters. This was always my favorite type of project to work on, self-initiated, completely hypothetical poster art; allows so much freedom to experiment with client-type work without the pressure of an actual client breathing down your neck.
Testing for the 2013 Formula 1 season began earlier this morning at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain. This is a stable year in terms of regulations, not much has changed since 2012. This [should] mean a closer field and some desperate development avenues for the Big 5. Red Bull is [still] clearly the team to beat coming of of their 3rd straight Constructors Championship & WDC after a down-to-the-wire finish at Interlagos in Brazil.
The offseason proved to be the biggest driver shakeup in recent memory, the most sizable of which was Lewis Hamilton making a shock exit at McLaren and forcing Michael Schumacher at Mercedes into his 2nd [and hopefully final] retirement. This inevitably caused a ripple effect to many of the teams and drivers below scrambling to fill – and find – seats, and left one of my favorite drivers on the grid, Kamui Kobayashi, hung out to dry sadly. How all the big money in Japan let this happen, I don’t know. Hope to see him back next year, maybe with a Honda sticker on his helmet.
With some interesting packaging choices and a new Pirelli tire, I’m personally hugely anxious to see how everyone’s form fares over the next few weeks. All teams will be in attendance, the only caveat being that Williams will be running their 2012 spec car in order to finish preseason preperations in time for the next test in Barcelona. Missing from the grid this year is perennial backmarker HRT who folded at the conclusion of last season. Rumour has it that some idiots here stateside are looking to buy in, however, and if that’s truly the case I’ve got a bridge to sell them as well…
Check out all the 2013 challengers after the jump.
Lovely saturated sounds coming from Seagram Murals, I hope to hear more from this delicate Australian.
Jacob 2-2 is back with his signature PBS funk, soo much detail, you’ll need to put it on repeat for at least an hour to be able to take in all the magic.
No Body is back at it, this time with a dose of psychedelia and beautiful grit.
A flooring ambient release coming soon from John Beltran, taking all this atmospheric UK juke into the heavens.
