Above is a sneak-peak of our concept “Make Malmö happier”. It´s a stop motion, that took 3 weeks to piece together. The film is part of a greater campaign going out to 250 000 house holds in Skåne and the southern region of Sweden. Full concept presentation will arrive in your letter-box shortly.
This song is worthy of its own post, James Blake just demolished my mind, I don’t know how i’m going to be able to DJ tonight I just feel like staying in and watching this over and over, my recommendation to listen to this is thru the roof.
My partner and I have run our label Moodgadget with a logo that, from the beginning, we intended to be an animated character. After 4 years of talking about it, over the holiday we finally made it happen. This is just one of many episodes coming together and I can’t wait for you all to see the rest. Our logo for the label has always been a mystery to people. The reason we picked it was because in our minds, it had life to it. Not only can Generic Man sit on a record sleeve, but he can sit in scenes, float across landscapes in his pod and hopefully one day people will be able to sit inside one.
The idea for this series is to have like-minded music lovers and/or new listeners realize their individuality as a listener. Most people don’t stop listening to TOP 40 music (which is totally fine) and never will think twice about this because they don’t care to dig for something they don’t know about. For those of you who have found this video, maybe you can relate to Generic Man.

As for the song in the video, it’s from artist Teeel whom we debuted on the ISO50 Dry Waves compilation. It’s beautiful slow synth material that oozes melody. Enjoy the free MP3 below.
I came across this video on Reddit tonight and was pretty much blown away by the concept, but not necessarily the execution. Then I read the comments where someone had linked to the above video and I was absolutely mesmerized. Visually the whole thing is very reminiscent of Michel Gondry’s video for Star Guitar. Now if the whole thing would just sync up the same.
The video was made using a simple mirror filter and an HD video camera, shot from a train. I use a lot of mirroring effects for live visuals, but never on material shot from a moving vehicle. Something about it feels so fluid; almost CGI. I wonder if this effect will become the video equivalent of tilt-shift, popping up everywhere all of the sudden.
RED is finally bringing a prosumer class camera to bear and it looks like the release is imminent. While certainly not cheap at nearly $5,000 for the “lens and brain kit”, it certainly makes for a compelling alternative to the Canon 5D MK2. The aesthetics on the RED cameras (founded by Oakley’s Jim Jannard) are a little to reminiscent of those MP3 goggles Dog The Bounty Hunter wears but there’s no denying the quality of the output.
All the of RED stuff might as well be vaporware to me, I know it must exist somewhere but I’ve never seen it in person or even heard of anyone owning or using one of their cameras. Here’s a video of someone actually holding (apparently not using though) a Scarlet. I really like the screen configuration. Does anyone around here own or use a RED? Does it live up to the hype? Do you get free MP3 goggles with it?
I’ve been finding myself watching more fan made videos than the actual official videos I guess because I love all the found footage. Don’t get me wrong there are some quality directed videos out there but I just seemed to love both equally as much right now. Back in 2008 I shared my Top 5 favorite videos, the ones below i’ve recently enjoyed.
We’re happy to be able to share this beautifully directed video for School Of Seven Bells of the song “I L U”. This video comes at a perfect time where many videos these days are very experimental and wonder off to something that usually is just visually appealing while the makers of I L U went straight in and grasped at what the song stood for and definitely put together a strong emotional piece of work.
This entire video — a TV spot for Silestone, apparently some sort of space-age counter top material which shatters all of your fruits and vegetables on contact — is CGI. Incredible. If I could do video like this I’d spend all my time recreating sets from 2001.
