Shout Out Out Out Out
I don’t know much about Bonobo, I really never gave them a real chance in the past because I thought it wasa lounge act mostly because of their album covers just reminded me of those ungodly generic Hotel Costa compilations. This Recurring track is sensational, reminds me of earlier Four Tet and just for you Four Tet followers the new Burial/Four Tet collab 12″ is mind blowing, i’ll post soon.

I was going to wait and make a post titled: Shout Out Out Out Out + Chk Chk Chk + Tings Tings and a bunch of other bands that feel the need that they need to have the same word in their band name twice or more but I got bored of it and erased it. Let’s just get to the real point here which is Shout Out Out Out Out is pretty great no matter what bad choices they make for a band name. The vocal is really catchy and parts of that cover are real nice but I feel that the better designed pieces are the smaller parts and the centered simple illustrations that aren’t as interesting take up too much of the cover, i’m not hating at all here i’m just saying is all.

One of the first 2xLP’s I ever bought that was for DJing something other than Techno or House but still only electronic was Miss Kittin & The Hacker: First Album, it had this feeling all the way thru similar to a beautiful girl that you looks sweet but rude and cold to everyone.

you really owe it to yourself to check out bonobo’s 5-track live ep (where recurring made it’s first appearance, i believe). the closing live song, nothing owed, will give you chills. i can guarantee this because we seem to have pretty similar taste in music.

oh, and i looped “moth” for damn near my entire saturday. crazy lovely mood.

tyty!

Bonobo is soo good…if you enjoy this song you will surely enjoy almost everything else he’s released. oh and shout out out out out aren’t too shabby either. their last album had some serious rugcutters on it and this new album isn’t too shabby either.

if you end up liking bonobo, check out Arkestra One. i think he only released one album and then went back to teaching or whatever. very very good album in the same vein as bonobo. also, Broadway Project – In Finite, is so great its not even funny. His other two releases are decent too.

I’ve met Simon Green (Bonobo) when I saw him in Chicago at a show. I was let down that he did not have his full performance ensemble (live strings, drums, etc), instead it was just him spinning his tracks and others, but he had some fantastic remixes of Nightmares on Wax among others.

Another fantastic group reminiscent of Bonobo that I keep going back to is Quantic or Quantic Soul Orchestra. Not quite on par with Amon Tobin but a stepping stone from Bonobo with some bossa nova influence. Enjoy!

who are you and why do you think anyone gives a shit about your ungodly generic opinions?
enjoy the music and try to do something decent to a complete stranger every other day because of THAT inspiration.

Better believe it, I am a Bonobo virgin! Your comments really got me drooling, as I can feel some serious music coming up! It just keeps on getting better. This blog has really shown me so much already, and I haven’t even scratched the surface. What an absolute musical smorgasboard. Where am I going to find time to get any work done once I really get stuck in here goodness knows, but its going to be fun, that much I know deep down inside.

Happy listening all!
