Maurizio Bongiovanni

Posted by Scott 07/5/10

I’m not to up on the world of fine art but these paintings by Maurizio Bongiovanni really caught my eye. For a split second I thought they were manipulated photos, they look very Photoshop-ish with that stretch out effect.

That first one would make a beautiful album cover.

These are pretty awesome. I’m especially impressed with the backgrounds and branches. I’d like the first and third hanging on my wall.

I would have never guessed those were paintings if I hadn’t read the caption. I was sure the artist was using a photoshop technique I hadn’t heard of. Incredible work!

I would buy one of these in a heartbeat. I might have to try and find some of his works for sale…beyond my thing…love it.

“too”—not “to” (Sorry to be grammar police)

I had the same thoughts when I saw those the other day though (that they were done with a motion blur in PS). Very cool.

Banksy makes us all realize that there’s a lot of the world undocumented, un thought of and hidden from everyday view, and that things can always be twisted and a funny side can always be seen, even if it is dark satirical comedy. It’s not often you see banksy work for sale , in fact a lot of it is on non moveable walls which makes for a difficult sale. If you see a banksy for sale - buy it – then set fire to it or do something seemingly anarchistic.
