Sasquatch Festival was one of the most tolerable festivals i’ve been to, you don’t feel like cattle and the security guards are super kind and keep the crowd happy by letting the energy happen. Gardens & Villa we’re the best band live, great stage presence and kept you ever wanting them to end.
Onra is slowly unveiling tracks from his upcoming sophomore album, the first taste is L.O.V.E. a track thats more upbeat than a lot of his recent tunes.
I don’t much about Chateaubriand but this edit of an oler Bibio cut is getting some love recently. I guess it just gave me a chance to post about an older great record which never hurts.
It’s been such a long time since I posted! This is largely due to the fact that I’ve been head-down on my company’s most recent product, UberConference, for the last few months. UberConference is basically a visual interface for audio conference calling. You can see who’s talking, who’s on the call, and control it completely via the desktop (and soon mobile) UI. We recently won the TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield competition — you can see our pitch and presentation here.
I haven’t written a process post in a very long time so I wanted to talk a little bit about the UberConference process here. I’ll talk about the UI development as well as the video work. I just recently found out that Reuben Wu, aside from being a British DJ, producer and keyboardist for Ladytron, was also an avid photographer. Apparently the story goes that he started getting a bit more serious about photography when he decided to document his personal tour experiences and making the most out of being a musician on the road, while visiting some remarkable locations. Since then, he’s has amassed an impressive collection of cameras, which he has modified, spliced and pushed to their limits, all in the name of experimentation and discovery. This has resulted in a diverse and unusual and almost other-worldy like body of work, from urban architecture, to desert and remote landscapes.

If you’ve ever seen Eliot Lipp live at some point in the last 10+ years you’ve probably recognized his synth styles, I always appreciated Eliot for that and that he’s giving his album away at donation only this week, head over if you get a chance and support that talented bastard.
I’m at the front of the line when if comes to Peter Kersten fans, if its Lawrence or Sten it has my full attention, the perfect marriage of classic Detroit Techno and gentle tweaking making his sound one of the best to lay your head back to.
Dive had to change their DIIV, good it was early on, this is slowly becoming a favorite summer rock cut.
This is only a portion of Edgar Froese’s “Maroubra Bay” I found the vinyl a couple months, the man has one of the best album cover catalogs ever.

Falling in love with this site called The Noun Project which “collects, organizes and adds to the highly recognizable symbols that form the world’s visual language, so we may share them in a fun way.” I personally love the Tornado, I just keep downloading and downloading some of the great ones not even to use but just to have like some graphic design hoarder.
