DEMF Finale: Seth Troxler Mix

Posted by Jakub

Seth Troxler
With Detroit Electronic Music Festival over I needed to find a mix that summed how good it got at times and this recent Resident Advisor mix does a great job and I think some of you Tim and Eric fan might like the tracklist towards the end.
Seth Troxler has been the face of the new generation of DJs coming out the US that gets it because he has the depth when it comes to knowing new and old records, has the confidence to throw out that curve ball track to a full dance floor, and lives the lifestyle that many of us would just stare at and be floored that he can live thru it all by being able to DJ at 6pm or 5am or even noon the next day.

Tim & Eric are these weird esoteric comedy team on an american late night cartoon network. Its primarily geared for stoners and males in the late teens and early twenties.

What is the track after Vans? With the French (Quebecois?) lyrics? That song is hot and I must have it.

I was just thinkin of using a bunch of Prince Paul’s “Psychoanalysis” on my next mix — way to hit up the handsome boy Seth! I forgot about Slippery People too. And yeah I’ll say again, Collette, killin it. I actually pulled that record out the other day, the white and purple one, wait I think there are two? That’s right the other one is black and white with her face on it? Anyway I was sorta like, do I still like this? Now I’n like oooooh yeah that’s the jam. Def perfect in the Woolfy/Brennan context — surprised more people haven’t pulled that one back out sooner. And especially amazing with Tim & Eric sex vibes in the mix! Killin.

Nathanael, actually, that was my question too, I thought the french track was from a band called Tim & Eric… but my question was really to find out who was that frech obviously Quebecois artist in the mix, I am shocked of not haveing heard this before… says a lot about Seth”s geniusness !

Are Abbott & Spleece on here? Why the g.o.d. references? I admit they have been bringing the heat. Vacuum’s set was one of my highlights of the weekend along with the Moodgadget 5 year Showcase, DJ Pierre, Lady Foursquare, Angel Alanis, Seth, Dave Pezzner, Suzy Doncic, The Sight Below, Lusine & Audion.
This mix is just what the doctor ordered. Thanks to R.A. & Scott & Jakub @ ISO for the re-post.
