Lusine+Moderat+The Books+Voss

Lusine - Language Barrier
Lusine does it again with a gorgeous ambient album called Language Barrier, I don’t know how he does it but he cuts up the lyrics and they still sound like honey being poured onto baby oil, makes me want to bash any music I make out the window using that cricket bat from Spinal Tap.

Modeselektor + Apparat = Moderat, I wasn’t a big fan of Modeselektor besides one song that i’ll post next time but i’ll buy anything that has Apparat on it. This pairs up nicely with the Telefon Tel Aviv album, I really need to sit with this record again because only a few tracks grabbed me. A New Error has that colossal analog drive to it that is always nice to lose yourself in for a few miniutes.

I was doing my best to steer clear of this Dark Was The Night compilation just because I felt like everyone already had it and no one needed to read about it but here it is The Books feat. Jose Gonzalez covering Nick Drake and all its glory, all joking aside this is an amazing cover and love both the musicians doing the cover.

DJ Koze just put out a CD that compiles all the remixes he did over the years, I especially love this Heiko Voss one and the Matthew Dear one is pretty outstanding as well.

Lusine Icl – Jetstream

Moderat – A New Error

The Books feat. Jose Gonzales – Cello Song

Heiko Voss – Think About You (DJ Koze remix 2003)

Language Barrier is probably one of the best albums I ever listened to, it’s just as you describe it.
And thanks for the Nick Drake cover, sounds great! I don’t know if you played Braid, but there’s a track on the OST that it reminded me, I just realized. (Here it is: )

Anyway, thanks for the great tracks Jakub, I also listened to the mix earlier, you have some sweet taste! :)

I’ve been obsessed with Language Barrier for a number of months now. Jetstream and A Day Apart are really great

I own a Lusine album and for some reason it never really struck me as anyhing special so I haven’t really given any lusine songs a listen until now, and Im loving it, same goes for the moderat track :)

I’m the same way: never could get into modeselektor, but anything apparat touches is gold.

Nick Drake is one of my fav artists, and I have a hard time with covers as it is, so it was difficult to listen to that “the books” song. But at least Jose Gonzales was involved.

I listened to the Jose Gonzales song a few times and it’s like Jose teamed up with Blue Man Group to make a sweet tune. Seriously, it sounds like Blue Man Group’s PVC pipes are being played.

on modeselektor
record that never leaves my box is modeselektor – silikon (siriusmo remix)
B.M.I , Edgar, EM Ocean just for starters.
then stuff like the modeselektor remix of Thom Yorke – Skip Divided. amazing stuff.
