ISO50 EXCLUSIVE: New Aarnio Mix
I made this semi continuous new Aarnio mix last night of songs that I love to loop and fall asleep to and shared it with a friend. Its a pretty rewarding listen if you enjoy collections of songs in a row that concentrate on depth in tone and calm airy patterns.
Made for people who love the admire the beauty of the ocean at night, listening to trains from a distance and the echos from a large church bell.

February 7, 2011 at 1:24 pmWow – I was reading the first paragraph and saw your description and thought “perfect mix for Supersilent 10.8” And there it is. :)
I managed to get Supersilent 10 over the weekend after the Cina post because I loved the track he picked. But I was honestly a bit let down by the majority of songs on it. I expected more music in the vein of 10.8, not long drawn out rumbles of sound. That has it’s place, but if the whole album would have been more like 10.8 that would have ruled. Can’t wait to get to the full mix you posted up there.

February 7, 2011 at 5:40 pmMG33, I went through the same thought process and emotional denouement. Too bad. But alas, 10.8 is gorgeous, happy to have heard it, just the same.
Nice mix Jakub, keep up the fantastic work….beauty of the ocean at night; what a calming image.

February 12, 2011 at 5:02 pmGreat mix, a track very similar to Burial’s one but on a bigger scale is Disintegration Loop 2.2 by William Basinski.

April 6, 2011 at 12:50 pmAarnio, another stellar, glimmering, somnambulent earfeast. I’m a big fan of your mixes – wide and acute musical taste is a skill I view with the utmost reverence.
