Posted by Jakub
You would all tell me if my frequent posting on Washed Out was unhealthy right? well this is somewhat special since its a mix from his blog that you can download for free. Its really crispy and diverse like finding a damaged cassette mix from the basement of your favorite radio station that 25 years old and playing it.
Arch M – “Bedrm Band at Caf NVA (edit)”
The Samps – “Magnetic Thys”
Samiyam – “Wrap Up”
Toro Y Moi – “Brubek”
Koushik – “Homage”
Osborne – “Afrika (Bullion Remix)”
Iasos – “Inter-Dimentional Music”
Jack Nitzsche – “Untitled (edit)”
The Khalsa String Band – “Song of Bliss”

March 30, 2010 at 2:12 pmYeah, I wasn’t a fan. Saw Washed Out with Small Black Friday and loved the show, though.

“why even leave a comment” ? Are you suggesting that comments should just serve for people to be a ton of yes-men supporting everything posted?
Man-up and express some opinion on the content in question. Nobody *isn’t* thanking Jakub for offering this.

March 30, 2010 at 4:04 pmit starts off really nicely but i think he kind of lost it with the next few tracks, maybe its just my mood, and not that theyre bad tracks, but i just think its slightly too all over the place. just some constructive criticism
Doug says:
March 30, 2010 at 5:52 pmIt’s alright. It would seem some aspects of it need refinement, especially in the “beat” area, sometimes it can get annoying.
Scott Willhite says:
March 30, 2010 at 9:58 pmI like this except the piano piece at the end. I like being thrown around a bit with a mix, yet this still holds together with the gritty, compressed sound.

March 30, 2010 at 10:47 pmObscure for the sake of being obscure
Neil says:
March 31, 2010 at 8:55 amI’m slightly bewildered at the lack of lovin’ for this! The “lack of refinement” helps make it for me.
Thanks for the link.

I am too, I think the second track might scare some people off but the Arch M and Koushik tracks floor me everytime
Spencer says:
March 31, 2010 at 10:46 ami wouldnt say ‘scare’, theres really no music that scares me, its more that the first track brings you in so softly and makes you want more for at least a few more minutes. either way i put it on my ipod.
and ya ‘floor’ is the right word to describe arch m and koushik hah
