Lamborghini Countach Concept & LP400

Beautiful shots of the original LP400 and concept models of the Lamborghini Countach before Crockett and Tubbs got back from Kragen with all the wings and spoilers. You may recognize some of the lines from the Bertone post, that’s because Bertone designer Marcello Gandini also designed the original Countach concept in 1971.
This is such a beautiful design, shame they had to go and muck it up with all the over the top junk. Although I guess if it didn’t have all that stuff we wouldn’t have such a perfect cliche ’80s car as a reference point in video games and movies.

Secretly? Hardly. I spent many an allowance dollar on posters of these beauties.

Actually, as ugly as they were, the spoilers, etc. were added because the car had shit handling and tended to overheat.

Beauty.
Didn’t Crocket and Tubbs drive a knock off Ferrari? I think it was a Corvette with strap on parts.

Cars from 70s-90s were so ugly usually lol
December 17th, 2009 at 12:20 am
DUDE. Screw the car design, I’m absolutely in love with that enormous, single windshield wiper!
December 17th, 2009 at 1:19 am
Yeah I can only remember Tubbs & Crocket driving a white Testarossa.
The colours look awesome though. Escpecially the green one that’s just insane.

Very nice indeed, I would love to do a shoot with one of these pearls
December 17th, 2009 at 4:05 am
You’re right, I had a yellow one from Matchbox as a kid,
and totally loved it.

I used to collect Lamborghini posters and bookmarks as a tot.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:04 am
Man, those colors are excellent together—inside and out.
December 17th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Never seen it in green, rather like it. Yes, the junk is really awful, but is somewhat functional.

On Vice
They had Ferrari Dayton Spyder which was a Vette, as originals are stratospheric in price even the.
Then it was blown up by a rocket launcher and replaced by a Testrossa.

You KNOW I wanted one of these. I had a six foot wide poster of the Countach on my wall all growing up.

Yes, the originals were uttlerly lovely to look at.
I particularly love the way that echoes of the design survived through the generations into the Diablo and Murcielago, especially while Luc Donckerwolke was in charge of the crayons.
