Olympische Spiele Munchen 1972
This Otl Aicher-designed Olympic poster is from Blanka. I see them linked on FFFFOUND all the time but I really don’t know what they’re all about. At first I thought they were an agency but now I think they’re just some sort of design shop with all sorts of cool stuff that is never in stock. At any rate, it’s fun to look at the pictures; they have an extensive archive of vintage poster prints.

Hi Scott,
Blanka is run by Mark “Blam” Blamire.
The site, as you say is an archive and shop.
But Blam also runs exhibitions and projects
with other designers such as Build.

The use of simple text, white margins and plain, albeit handcrafted color is surprisingly delightful in a lot of the work Scott posts. It is a tendency that, even though effective, is underused to day in light of more complex, sometimes overtly dramatic design today.
does anyone know of a realistic way to get a ffffound! account? I do not know that many people abroad, and getting an invitation seems like something that’s handed down. I’d forever appreciate it!

Max Brill designed this poster, not Otl Aicher–note the signature at the top.
Max and Otl worked together to create a design school in Germany in the 50’s so it’s no surprise that they would have collaborated on this project.
