Phantogram: Mouthful Of Diamonds Video

Posted by Jakub

Pitchfork debuted Phantogram‘s Mouthful of Diamonds video which the couple are in a pretty nice cabin out in the woods and many odd things go down, I won’t spoil the fun.

just kind of a quarky little thing…if you turn the audio down and play Bonobo’s stay the same from black sands, well i think the song compliments this video kinda nicely is all :-)

I dig the video. Glad to see they’re finally getting some much deserved recognition. They’re a wonderful band.

i think i would’ve liked this song more if i didn’t see the video first. the shots are smooth, it’s not an ugly video.. but for some reason the concept makes the otherwise decent song feel less interesting/affecting.
i dunno, just a feeling

video is nice, but the song is way nicer.
is true that i knew song way before the video.
maybe this is the reason i think video could be better, some really creative works could be presented through the video..
there is some nice shoots, but they could come up with the story not just shoots. this song deserve better better and better video. maybe they should conect with Hammock :)

I love this band, but I fel this video is pretty “meh.” No story, nothing interesting. Just them posing and doing weird things. She is really pretty though.

Agreed, the video is weak and the song is great. Seemed like there was a lot of good footage, but bad editing.

Love this band since i first heard them a few months ago.
I thought it was an interesting video. Definitely could have been edited a bit better. Too many shots really didnt seem to fit at all. They really threw it off.
Especially loved the speeded up breathing shots at about 1:44. Never seen that before.

Great band, been listening to them for awhile, but that video was really, really disappointing. Poor editing, lame post-effects, boring duality concept … everything the band doesn’t deserve. Oh well, let’s hope “When I’m Small” gets better treatment.

thanks for this post!

i had heard the name but hadn’t heard the band. what a fantastic band. in the past 24hours, i’ve turned quite a few folks onto them. the power of good blogs!

that droning synth/bass is impeccable.
