The Sight Below recently compiled an amazing tracklist for a Fact Magazine Mix, check the song list below, its packed with lush distorted dream pop from the 80’s and 90’s. I saw The Sight Below play 2 nights ago, it felt like I was falling back slowly for about 45 mins, it was perfect, I kept asking myself why do I listen to anything else. I’m putting this mix on repeat while I pack up and move today, enjoy your weekend.

You probably won’t hear a record like that using guitars that is this good ever in your life I bet, The Sight Below marries devastation with beautiful at a syrupy tempo, a must have for late night no talking get togethers.
A new album from Eluvium is always welcomed with open arms by my ears, here’s a short and fluttery piano piece by the highly talented artist, also make sure to pick the LP for the vocal material as well.
Kaito‘s makes trance okay to listen to because he sounds educated to the sounds he chooses, its not clubs and bad taste here its about a lush composition, i’d go as far as just demolishing the whole genre and letting Kaito just own it and if you want trance you just have to put on a Kaito record.
New York’s Post Wave Wierd Records has a solid artistry and newly added all analog(yes, thats right no computers just synths and even hardware sequencers) Led Er Est was a treat to see live the other night. Their sound expands way beyond this CC Exit track but I had to post it because they ended with it in an epic manner by speeding up every synth until it was just a wall of sound, I hope to have more material for you soon to expand on this.
2 of the most talented unsigned bands right now I know are ARMS and Perfume Genius, both cover their respective sounds in very graceful ways. ARMS has plenty of excitement coming from each track that will hopefully kick off a few outdoor parties with friends this summer, preferably at a summer cabin by the lake. Todd puts the right amount of drive behind Emily Sue Pt. 2, it excites me the same way as when I first heard Broken Social Scene. If you like it then you should definitely download it here for FREE, the band is giving away their EP today as a nice prep for SXSW.
Perfume Genius touches on a Red House Painters sadness, really tells a story nicely though. You see songs like this don’t make it to the radio and I don’t get why, so much more there to enjoy that has character over someone else writing a song like this thats in a professional studio with the best equipment ever surrounding them.
The Sight Below makes beauty and misery work on a pristine level, he makes a grey day rich and a loner feel powerful I bet. If you’re a high end dark art boutique and don’t have this playing in the store then you might as well be selling rainbows and playing Lady Gaga club mixes.
When I saw Noveller play last month I was very impressed not only by her sound but how she creates it on stage, she has more pedals than some girls have shoes and gently loops her sound while playing her 2 guitars with bows, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SEEING LIVE.
Ghostly 10 Year Seattle handbill
I’ll be heading up to Seattle later this month to Play the Ghostly 10 year show at Decibel Fest. Last year was great so really looking forward to this one.
You can see the flyer for the show above. I went with a slightly modified version of the Chicago poster / Ten Year Print to change it up a little. With this one I was going for more of a flyer/handbill feel as opposed to a poster.
Here are all the details, hope to see you out there…
