Recently found Peaking Lights on last.fm and checked out their episode of Sound Builders, a pretty committed couple doing wonderful things, really inspiring, makes me want to buy a soldering iron too.
Kompakt has really done it with this Walls signing,i’m floored by the beauty of this track, steam filled with a dark drive.
I’m getting into this Thundercat record and its reminding me of what music I was in love with before I found Boards Of Canada, there was that PBS jazz, time to dig deeper for older records like this.
This Balam Acab record is all over the place in the UK I hear, its definitely a refreshing and unique fusion of genres. I find this Welcome track the most appealing because the vox is more on a operatic tip and the texture and warmth in the tone all mold perfectly when the kicks happen.
A gorgeous informative short documentary about 3/11 in Japan debuted today via VBS.TV and Palladium Boots featuring Pharrell exploring the country and visiting artists and having them share their thoughts, feelings and creative work.
“Tokyo faces a new reality after the tragedy of 3/11. While persistent challenges still lay ahead, the city’s creative class is hell-bent on making sure that their hometown thrives. Innovative and resilient, they are defining the future of Tokyo on their own terms. We put our boots on and went exploring.”
Hi guys, I didn’t want to spread all this info over time so I just made it one compact post for you. Today, we put a limited run(no repressings) of 40x Echo Circle shirts in the ISO50 shop designed by Heathered Pearls. They have a enzyme wash treatment that simulates 40 typical laundry cycles gives this shirt a unique super-soft feel. The print on it is a mini halftone effect, pretty detailed for shirt, pick one up at the ISO50 shop.
This marks the start of Scott and I selecting a few new designers to do a shirt for ISO50, hope you enjoy.
Above is a day time disco mix I did for Ghostly International, feel free to download it within the Soundcloud player, it starts off with a snippet of a rare Boards of Canada track.
Thanks as always for stopping by and reading and more importantly listening to the music from up and coming musicians here on ISO50.

Future Islands musicianship surpasses soo many artists of his genre, his talent oozes out, sadly I haven’t seen him live but now its a priority.
Since the first time I heard D. Gookin I thought he was from another world but I had some much respect for this live show, its leaps beyond Dan Deacon or Tobacco when it comes to weird energy and psychedelics, I can’t wait to see how he does this as a one man show tomorrow night at The Glasslands.
Silk Flowers have to be born in the early 80s, there is no way you can discover this kind of music and make it and not have been bored in the early 90s. The clashing of EBM / Minimal Wave / …but this quirkiness that I can’t put my finger on makes this project pretty damn close to genius.
I grabbed Elite Gymnastics from Pitchfork(who have redesigned their site), to be honest I had the 3 other tracks picked out and this song seems to be an odd mixture of all the tracks above in a unexplainable way, does anyone else hear it? like it grabbed hints of things from the other songs, it could just be me.

What a great long cut from Legowelt, synth noodling from another planet, I could listen to this for hours. DOWNLOAD HIS NEW ALBUM HERE FOR FREE.
Keep Shelly In Athens debut a song from their upcoming release, its haunting yet inviting in this bright opened up way, should be a killer release.
Bradford Cox does it over and over again, sounds like a classic already.
With all the buzz of the Balam Acab debut LP releasing this week, this Sleep Over remix has been floating around with it. I love how he lets all of his hisses and highs breathe like their blinking flashes of reflections that catch you noticing really quickly. The ending of the track is a real rewarding listen.
