Brionvega Doney
Posted by Scott
I posted on the Brionvega TS522 portable radio a while back. Now here’s the perfect companion, the Brionvega Doney TV. It is, of course, way expensive (edit: apparently not, around $300 actually, thanks sean) and way hard to get a hold of. And if you’re looking for something even more future-retro, there’s also this concept (if that’s the remote laying there, I’m sold.
Here’s another shot of the TS522 for good measure…So Rams-esque:

May 1, 2009 at 12:46 pmusually Brionvega is a rather pricy manufacturer, even in EU that tv is above 1000 €. You can check it directly on Brionvega website http://www.brionvega.tv/
My uncle used to have both the TV, but I think it was the Algol model, and the portable radio (bought back in the ’70s)…
Talking about stylish tv what about the mini LCD designed by Fukasawa for plusminuszero ( http://tinyurl.com/cg7s44 )? I saw a few of them exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, and I couldn’t stop drooling…. he, he, he

May 1, 2009 at 5:31 pmI wonder why they decided to change the original design and chrome-ify it. I could have done without.

May 9, 2009 at 2:11 pmSo that radio was designed by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper. Sapper also designed the IBM Thinkpad (the first one) and the Tizio Lamp for Artimede. He’s got a new desk lamp, the Halley, at http://bit.ly/5OoIP which I’m totally digging. He also consulted for Samsung on this beauty, http://bit.ly/gNXTL. That’s all I’ve got on Sapper. He’s designed some really great looking pieces.
