I found paintings in my on going search for artificial landscapes. I think we all have that place in our hearts for that architecture and nature fantasy mesh, even if its office buildings or in this case dramatic islands floating in the sky.

I’m sure this guy would be the first to tell you that he owes a great debt to Dean, but I think these are a really good extension of the style.
Dan McPharlin also does some really cool work with a similar feel… he did a few Prefuse 73 covers.
Anyway, I absolutely love these.

They’re large, insanely detailed watercolours and his influences include 19th century Romantic landscape painting, 1960s utopian architecture, and scientific infographics. Really beautiful stuff!
