July 20, 2009 at 11:02 pmLicense To Ill was their best album–CLASSIC!!! I love the beasties. They’re SO very hip hop, in that purist kind of way.

July 21, 2009 at 3:31 pmAw man, I had no idea he was *ill*. Sounds hopeful though…I’ll miss them at Outside Lands…speaking of, are you going Scott?
The best three album run could be of super-debate magnitude…like what about OK Computer/Kid A/Amnesiac? Or some of the Zeppelin albums or The Bealtes…I will say though, maybe for their genre of music it could be the best ever, definitely tops.

July 21, 2009 at 3:55 pmbest three album run ever. radiohead was solid, and zep was amazing but I think the beatles are totally freaking overrated. my vote goes to the b-boys… because it does go well with the chicken.

good call, maybe it should be narrowed down to hip hop. or just changed to “wow, what a great 3 album run”…
awebb-
beatles, overrated? man, go get sgt. pepper’s, Magical Mystery Tour, and The White Album…amazing run right there. as for zeppelin: III, IV, and Houses of the Holy is huge.
belle & sebastian and The Shins are a couple more recent bands I feel like have been super consistent.

July 23, 2009 at 3:14 pmWhat’s important about the Beatles is that their music beats out all the over-hyping that tends to get attached to them. The test if time has told us that; it’s still relevant music. And they probably have more than 3; Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul…the list goes on.
And, wow, what a great 3 album run… :)
