aaaaaaa I have a Time/Life Science! Space! book from ’60something with that picture in it. It’s probably responsible for my preoccupation with pre/early space race futurism.
jason, do you know that time person of the year isnt always a positive influence on society? hitler, bin laden, etc have been considered for that recognition.
pertaining to the suit, its amazing, i would love to see nasa implement that into an old LEM design, it would of been hilarious.

they often pick divisive figures, it’s not a popularity contest, it’s more about impact, good or bad. case in point: Hitler was person of the year (then called “Man of The Year”) for 1939. I guess it was inevitable, but this blog has finally fulfilled Godwin’s Law.

i dont think you have reached godwins yet, scott. dont you have to refer to someone as a nazi to fulfill that? i think we are still in the clear! hooray!
