Sigur Ros: Gobbledigook
Posted by Jakub
One band that i might say is one of my favorites but i probably don’t listen to enough unless i’m in the right mood is Sigur Ros. This is the new single off their new record called Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (English translation: with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly) which is out next Tuesday June 23rd. Personally, i love this song it reminds me of some great tracks off Animal Collective – Sung Tongs.
Sigur Ros: Gobbledigook
[audio:gobbledigook.mp3]I couldn’t find a good quality version of the Gobbledigook video but this gives me a chance to post one of my favorite videos by them which is off the last record, the song is called: Glósóli.

June 20, 2008 at 11:25 amIf you haven’t seen “Heima” yet, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s a stunning documentary of not only Sigur Ros but Iceland. The 2 EPs from Heima are also amazing.
Also, you’re right the video for Glósóli is an incredible video. Definitely one of my favorite songs by Sigur Ros as well.

That tune is totally different from their other work. I can dig it.

June 20, 2008 at 12:49 pmWell that was brutal. At the begining of the song I turned up the volume and then- bam- one speaker started that thunder storm than the other… It really freaked me out. But now… I can say I like it really much. First my attention was caught by “múm” then Bjork and now another Nordic band? Allright then :) Good choice Jakube

June 22, 2008 at 5:46 pmSigur Rós is one of those few bands that stays interesting. Their new album is really great, again. And I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them live – one of the best gigs I’ve been to.
I’ve also been to Iceland by the way which I would recommend to everyone :D

October 30, 2008 at 7:25 amPhill your right the “Heima” dvd is amazing. I have been a Sigur Ros fan for a while but havent had the chance to see them live. The dvd gives you a look into their music as well as their country, but I’m sure it doesnt compare to seeing them live. Im out in London right now and I was sad to hear that all of their UK shows are sold out. While I was out here though, I discovered an artist named Baltic Fleet that Sigur Ros fans might like. see what you think…. myspace.com/balticfleet
