These are some hi-res shots from a 70’s speedboat cup held by Benihana (Yeah, the Japanese restaurant. Apparently the owner used to be into boats until he almost died when his disintegrated in the San Francisco bay). I’ve had these pics laying around for a while and figured I’d post some of them. I really like the photographic style, very nice colors. And check out the paint jobs on the first two, rad.

Funny that you mention Rocky Aoki (creater of Benihana). He just passed away a week ago

My father used to work for Benihana in Florida and I used to see all kinds of race boat photos hanging on the walls of the office hallways. Brings back some memories.

Some speed boats are coming to town soon actually, I doubt the murky waters of the Mersey sill let me get shots as great as these though

dear scott,

we love your fotos of the speed boats! I am writing because I am working for a small software enterprise in berlin so we are wondering if it is possible to use the picture of the foto “crouse nr04” for our new website?
I would be grateful if you could inform us about the conditions.
best regards

i’m generally scurrying across the internet nearly all of the morning therefore I have the inclination to peruse quite a bit, which isnt always a beneficial thing as nearly all of the internet websites I see are constructed of pointless trash copied from some other internet websites a million times, on the other hand I’ll hand it to ya this site is honestly decent and contains some authentic substance, so thank you for removing the trend of solely duplicating other individual’s blogs and forums :)
