I got shivers up and down my spine all through the trailer… Wake up by The Arcade Fire is a perfect song for this. I’m so excited.

I have to say I was kinda worried about this, am I the only one that remembers reading lots of scary press about rewrites and how poorly the production was going?

That said this looks beautiful, and the Arcade Fire song fits absolutely perfectly.

Looks amazing. Kind of reminds me of a lot of Sigur Ros’ videos.

Speaking of Sigur Ros… I am absolutely in love with this video (which is a high quality vid) of theirs: http://www.emichrysalis.co.uk/quicktime/sigur_ros/glosoli/index.php?version=7.100&bandwidth=100000

Whenever I’m feeling down and stressed out about life… I just put this little piece of magic on. Makes me want to give up everything I own and just wander around the planet on my feet.

Where the wild things are is not a very popular book down here in south america, at least I don’t recall anything similar from my youth. But the movie looks interesting. The fact that there’s no CGI (yeah, the thing that turn the last star wars movies into a sad thing) is promising.
And I agree with the Arcade Fire song ;)

i had heard that it was entirely done with live puppets, but after watching the trailer – it’s clear that some of the facial gestures are carried out via CG. im not complaining though, it looks very well done

yea its not entirely done with puppets there is still a lot of CGI but its done artfully and it looks great. There are real people in the Wild Things costumes but their faces are CG and sometimes they have to CG them when they do action sequences(those are huge costumes!)
Jonze has said that theyve done the CG different then most movies, much like the approach Benjamin Button took

Spike Jonze, Dave Eggers, Karen O, Arcade Fire… Can’t wait.
I just hope all the “re-working” they’re forcing him to do after the initial screenings doesnt ruin it. I bet I would have absolutely loved the first cut. Let’s hope after they finalize everything they eventually release a director’s cut or some sort of original cut version down the road.

I cant believe how many negative comments I’ve seen about this movie coming out. Personally my wife and I can’t freakin wait to take my niece and nephews to go see it.
