Beamer Arduino
This one is for the audio geeks among us. While I was in Austin I got to play around with my friend Beamer’s Arduino Sequencer prototype (see video above). This thing is really fun and has some very interesting features. We both have the Doepfer MAQ-16 which has it’s strengths, but overall is sort of disappointing so I’ve been looking for a replacement. Hopefully Beamer gets his Arduino into production soon, would love to take this on the road.
The Matrix Synth blog posted about the video, there are also some pictures and more info on the sequencer.

Some cool sounds, kinda like a happy venetian snares.
It looks really delicate though, i know its a prototype and a good one at that but id be very scared about breaking it.

Cool to see what people manage to do with some wit and an Ardunio board! My students usually aren’t so clever while they play out with their Arduinos… and the result most of the time doesn’t sound so good. If anybody is interested in experimenting with the Arduino platform, all the information needed is accessible through http://www.tinker.it

awesome, and it makes me that warm feeling that i feel when listening to genesis’s “selling england by the pound”/”the lamb lies down on broadway”. although they were prog-rock, analogue electronics really were an important feature in their music. more could be said about “Emerson Lake & Palemer” which were amazing but sometimes too pretentious.
i really love what they did in the movie here, all you need is to add beats.
(and some more weeks of work on it).
