Navis x Mojave
The always great Tim Navis updates from the Mojave Desert with some striking images. These would be great on the wall at large scale.

Usually when people shoot photos of a city or Las Vegas for that matter, it’s long exposures with light trails in a clean and typical fashion. Fellow photographer Tim Navis took a much more interesting approach and shot this beautiful set of simulated double-exposures on his Canon 5d Mark II.
I learned of Cole Rise via his Instagram (@colerise – some great stuff in there too) and was immediately stricken with the beauty or his photography work. But when I saw his full portfolio I was completely blown away. I’d compare his style to maybe a little more processed version of Tim Navis, skewed more towards landscapes. Really beautiful stuff.
I checked in on Tim Navis recently after way too long away and as usual, I was not disappointed. He’s posted a lot of new work much of which I see as a distinct evolution from his already stellar earlier output. A lot of it is taking on a very illustrated quality which I really enjoy. Also loving the new B&W stuff; that tennis court shot is incredible. I’m pretty sure he’s using a 5D MK2 these days, not quite certain though.
On a side note, I’ve been trying to get Tim to do a process post here. Maybe a little urging will do the trick.

Navis has been a long time commenter on this blog but I just recently stumbled onto his photography and was very impressed. The colors are just perfect; such a nice tone, feels modern yet still authentic. From the Flickr EXIF data it looks like he’s using a Canon EOS 30D. Tim, perhaps you’d like to elaborate on your equipment (lenses etc.) and methods in the comments?
You can find more of Navis’ work at his Flickr and his portfolio.
