Weekend Inspiration: Mr. Div

Posted by Jon M

Mr. Div is Tumblr I find myself (and apparently 30,000 other followers) visiting quite often, due to the amazing world of Animated GIF’s and Motion Graphics that inhabit within, designed by Matthew DiVito.

I intend to one day hire this man for my show visuals. Above are a few of my personal favorites.

Kevin Dart / Looks that Kill

Posted by Jon

The amazing Kevin Dart has a new Yuki 7 book coming out titled “Looks That Kill.” To celebrate its release he has teamed up with animator Stephane Coedel to produce a trailer for the second hypothetical film in the Yuki 7 universe, and the result is even more impressive than their previous collaboration.

Mr. Dart has been influential in my development as a designer, and his ability to create a fully realized world with Yuki 7 is truly inspiring. Enjoy.

Release the Freq

Posted by Alex

This is the video for Matta’s “Release the Freq“. The incredible cinematography and design is by Kim Holm. I really like how the visual complexity builds subtly over the course of the video. And of course it maps to the music nicely, though I’m not really a huge fan of the song. The color grading on this is terrific — I’m tempted to go off into the woods searching for domesticated deers to photograph.

Make Malmo Happier

Posted by Scott

This wonderful stop motion piece was created by Stockholm based Snask Studio. Every frame would make a great photo and the type is beautiful. More info in their words:

Above is a sneak-peak of our concept “Make Malmö happier”. It´s a stop motion, that took 3 weeks to piece together. The film is part of a greater campaign going out to 250 000 house holds in Skåne and the southern region of Sweden. Full concept presentation will arrive in your letter-box shortly.
