Expo67 Pt. 2
Some more Expo67 postcards. Scale models are so great, always wanted a city under glass in the middle of my studio. These would be the centerpiece.

This incredible image came my way via Jakub … Not sure if they have the world expo anymore, but I doubt it would look this good. Click through for more pics – Image above now links to larger version via George. Continue reading →
I’ve posted on Expo 67 before but it’s so good I thought it was time to bring it up again for the uninitiated. Alamedinfo has what looks like the full collection of Expo67 postcards from the Montreal World’s Fair. I will never get over this style, it’s just so perfectly executed. It says a lot about the spirit of an age when they had such fanciful visions of the future. Of course, it could be that very kind of irrational exuberance that landed us where we’re at now — and it’s probably a good thing given way to a more pragmatic vision — but it’s still nice to look back and smile. I’ve posted on him before, but today I saw some nice shots of Verner Panton’s work that I’d hadn’t yet seen posted up at the suberb “but does it float” blog. That green ceiling is looking very familiar…
Some random perfection for a Friday morning; a beautiful poster by Georges Huel for Expo67. Can anyone identify that font in the upper right? Very nice. Enjoy the long weekend!
