Burial + Four Tet

Burial + Four Tet
Burial and Four Tet have just put together probably this years best collaborative effort on vinyl. The vinyl release contains two 9 minute tracks that show off both of their skills of making catchy repetitive melodies that lay over airy soundscapes and softened keys. Moth has the potential to become a great piece to space out too while Wolf Cub asks for more of your attention while it plucks along and kicks into dubstepville.

I think this highly anticipated collaboration lives up to the hype… Moth is a little more 4×4 than I might have expected out of something with Burial’s name on it, but that catchy filtered melody bit is fantastic. I’m sure it will be stuck in my head for days.

Thanks for posting this.

Hope I don’t get ostracized but what font is that? I want to say Trade Gothic but I mix up a lot of those condensed serifs.

@Matt: I think it’s Zurich Light Extra Condensed (whereas what’s on Burial’s own records is, I think, Agency Regular Condensed [that “R” is pretty distinctive]).

You must be either super lucky to have been on the promo list for this one, or super quick on the ordering: I heard this sold out in under an hour!

I’m glad these tracks do live up to the hype too. It has more of Four Tet’s fingerprints on it than Burial, but that’s certainly not a bad thing!

Dare I say that moth brings back the old V. Delay sex vibe but much darker.
