Cole Rise

Posted by Scott

I learned of Cole Rise via his Instagram (@colerise – some great stuff in there too) and was immediately stricken with the beauty or his photography work. But when I saw his full portfolio I was completely blown away. I’d compare his style to maybe a little more processed version of Tim Navis, skewed more towards landscapes. Really beautiful stuff.

Yeah this guy is amazing. I came across his work a while back on flickr and instantly added him as a contact. He always captures such great atmosphere.

I’m really loving the first one, the patterns the birds make. Wow.

I’ve been looking through his flickr as well, so much amazing stuff. Inspiring.

I think webstagram is cool, but for my show BackStory on CNN International @backstory on Instagr.am – I just have a flickr account linked up to my app and I easily share each photo there and it’s a much nicer looking layout and I can send people my flicker personalized link to see all of our photos on the web. It’s much nicer looking.

Absolutely gorgeous! Waking up, with coffee in hand, I got lost staring into these. Hey, I wanted to share some photos from depression-era America with the cool peeps who participate on this site. I found these images stunning simply because they are all in color…at this time most people didn’t likely have the money to spare for taking color photo, especially in these rural towns. To think I grew up imagining the 1940s in black and white…

Incredible photos. Stylistically there are a lot of similarities between these and Tim Navis, but there is something visceral about Cole’s pics that’s hard to put your finger on…amazing.
