Honduras

Posted by Scott

I just arrived in Honduras for the week. The big plan was to bring the Nikon D80 and hopefully get some good shots. But of course, I left the battery sitting on the charger so now I’m left with the iPhone 4 (which took the above shot) and a little canon SD870 IS. I’m going to take it as a challenge and try to coax the best shots I can from the little guys.

The internet is super spotty out here so not sure I’ll be doing any more uploads during the trip. But with a little luck I’ll have some interesting stuff to share when I return.

Happy New Year to everyone!

As good as the iPhone photo Aps are, I wish they didn’t ruin the whole film experience. Kinda cheap, I think (literally, too!) In saying that, happy Holidays, Scott!

Scott!
Welcome in Honduras; smaller smallband internet ever…
as an exchange student, I’m here in Tegucigalpa.
Great picture of Toncontin Airport.
Token with your Iphone?
& how you did the framework around it?
an Iphone-app or on your laptop?
Thanks! Happy 2011!

scott,
you’ve heard of Hipstamatic app right? Makes the Iphone pics so much fun….great retro shots with the different films to play around with. The inferred color film is my fav right now….

Which app was used to take this photo? I don’t think there are any hipstamatic films with that frame…

The frame is one that’s stolen from a roll of Fuji Velvia 100, which I personally think is a bit of an insult to the film, but the photo itself is nice enough.

Insulting? haha come on.
I’m pretty sure he’s using Instagram app (I use it myself)
It’s just a nice way of post-processing your pictures on the go and having fun with it, no one’s stealing anything.
Jak, wouldn’t you like that your trip pictures look like this?

Not sure about Honduras, but I daresay that most counrtries have decent photo shops nowadays. In addition, I leave for trips with a battery grip attached that also takes normal AA batteries in case of an emergency.

Hope all went well!
Cheers,

Thanks everybody… The pic was taken on the iPhone at roatan airport and the processed with Instagram, an iPhone app that’s sort of like hipstamatic but with a social component. We posted on it last month, try searching it, I’m on an iphone right now And don’t have the link handy.

As for the battery situation, yeah it’s a bummer but the little canon has been doing alright filling in. I thought about bringing the battery grip but it’s rather large and I was trying to conserve space. I am sure there is a camera shop on the mainland but out here on the islands it’s pretty lo-fi.

I’ll post pics when I get back next week.
