MOMI Show Live Shots
Posted by Scott
Couple Flickr shots from the MOMI show in Chicago last Saturday. Top two are from Whateverland and the bottom one is from Mark Wisniowski. That’s Dusty Brown on the left in the duo shots, if you haven’t checked out his music yet, get on it! Sent in Via Anthony Ciannamea.

February 26, 2008 at 5:11 pmDid you finally break down and buy a Macbook Pro?

February 26, 2008 at 5:29 pmHaha…. no, that’s Dusty’s, I borrowed it for the set since I didn’t want to lug both my laptops on the plane. But I have seriously been considering the switch lately. I couldn’t switch for music, but I would love to design on a Mac. Although at $4500 for a well equipped mac pro, it just seems so wasteful for whatever slight improvements I might realize.

February 26, 2008 at 8:16 pmyea, screw getting a macbook pro. i bought a g4 15″ a few years ago and you simply don’t need to spend that much to get a good mac these days. the imacs are very nice and good enough for design stuff in my opinion. i haven’t played with the newer intel ibooks, but i’m sure they are a nice compromise too.

February 26, 2008 at 11:10 pmThe macbook pro’s smoke. All the intel macs do. I’m much more comfortable using an all mac workflow for both design and music. I used to tell myself there were audio audio apps that I NEEDED on pc platform but I’ve come to appreciate having less crappy vst’s installed en masse. Plus it’s forced me to concentrate on basic sampling/sequencing in Live.

February 27, 2008 at 2:50 pmI would have killed to make it to that show, however, I was flat broke. Feel free to play Indianapolis any time you want. In fact, I would help set the whole thing up. I’m sure the Herron School of Art and Design would love to have you visit!

February 27, 2008 at 9:56 pmI would of loved to have have been at this show, and certainly would have if I hadn’t had a wedding to attend. I am sure it was something both aurally and visually! Are you planning to play any east coast shows?

April 15, 2008 at 7:30 amHey so what software are you using on the laptop? How do you usually approach live sets? Do you tend to cut up your tracks and then play with them live in Ableton or something?
