Audi R18 E-Tron

Some great shots of Audi’s R18 “E-Tron” Hybrid Le Mans Race Car. Terrible name aside, this thing looks insane. Here’s some footage of it taking corners at ridiculous speeds:

i used to do a lot of work for audi and got very close to the predecessor, the r-15 and its le mans team. when hanging with some of the drivers, they would allude to this thing being worked on, all the way back in around 2009. it was like the audi skunk works. awesome vibes. i traveled with them to sebring a few times and to laguna seca for a few of their consecutive wins. was a lot of fun being so close to these machines that felt like they were ripping your head off when just idling. cant even imagine what this one is like. the audi team are the gentlemen of the whole LMP1 series. they once gave me a great belstaff jacket too which probably leads me to gushing like this.
