I’m seeing a lot music apps lately that have amazing potential but this one has a uniqueness to it thats built in. Soo happy to see a label like Ninja Tune grab the bull by the horns and drive deep into the musical making experience, my only worry is that it gives the younger generation the mindset that they might own a song that they made with other artists samples, just sayin’.

head over to createdigitalmusic for a great Q&A about the app.

When you give someone tools to create their works works with your material, you ARE giving them a creative stake in your work: what is a remix after all? If you create a tool like this you need to understand the implications, and that doesn’t seem like something Ninja Tune is afraid of.

we always wanted to make our music interactive…the whole point about being a DJ was being a prototype interactive music user! we think people will understand being given rights to do a remix without that meaning they own the song and its components. I made a stab at terms for this, see ninjajamm.com/conditions
and would love to know if yall think that is clear.
thanks for your support of Ninja Tune and our app
