Beacon + CVLTS + Tejada + Kyson

Tycho’s previous tour partner Beacon released a new single today on Ghostly International. The track fuses together smokey atmosphere with an enlightening pulse which will fit perfectly among this Fall/Winter roll out of albums from The XX and Holy Other.
C V L T S drown out into the noise of their new LP, echoes of grainy drone haven’t sounded this sweet in quite a long time.
On John Tejada’s new LP he has this stunning moment where everyone is allowed to rest their eyes, i’m super grateful for this sound.
Kyson is a remix champion, here’s his latest for Bon Iver, it should definitely win but I don’t know how to vote for it.

August 9, 2012 at 7:01 pmHmm I have mixed feelings about the Bon Iver remix. That’s a pretty incredible song to be playing around with for starters. Production value is great, but I feel like it’s just a tease of such a great song.

August 10, 2012 at 7:01 amI’ve been working on a Bon Iver remix for the same track… makes me a bit uneasy that Kyson has already tackled this song for the contest.
But I agree with Steve… how do you remix a song that is already so beautiful?

August 10, 2012 at 11:13 am@steve blair + @nick robinson i get what you’re saying, but you can’t say that the song is untouchable when the artist himself is putting it up in a remix competition. plus this remix is great. as per usual, good finds jakub.

August 10, 2012 at 6:24 pm@jakub yeah, the loop based and ambient stuff you’ve been showcasing lately is beautiful. Loscil, MMJ Washed Out remix, this stuff. But honestly, my favorite track of the bunch by a long shot is your own Left Climber. It reminds me of Basinski in the sense that it’s got a feeling of age and persistence, almost as if it’s been around for centuries. Really impressive.
A playlist of this stuff would be delightful.

I’ll be excited about what will roll out soon on the blog :)
