The Mercury Program – Chez Viking
Posted by Jakub
The very first post I ever did on the ISO50 blog was of The Mercury Program, just one of those bands that I feel like I can play for anyone and they’ll fall in love with at least one song. I admire that this record stayed on pace with their previous albums, you know lush key work and light on the feet yet a wave of feel good energy popping up now and again, a perfect record to listen to for a Monday morning.
The Mercury Program: If you’re out there contact me[jakub *t iso50 d*t com] I want you to do a Tycho cover for his LP or if you want to play in Brooklyn, NY.

November 30, 2009 at 7:31 amHey Jakub,
Tom from the Mercury Program here. Thanks a lot for the post.
I’m a big ISO50/ Tycho fan, and am lurking around here pretty much daily.
I’ll contact you directly to discuss some of the other things you mentioned.
Artwork:
Somewhere along the way the cover art got a weird conversion – (looks like a browser rendering of a CMYK file). Since most/all of you who read this blog are a bit more discerning than the average bear – here’s a link to a version that is a little closer to correct.

Thanks again – I hope you all enjoy the record.
P.S. Thanks for the heads up Marc.

December 1, 2009 at 8:53 amTMP is such a great band. Surprised there are so many newcomers to them, but who cares—they deserve all the attention. Class act fellows as well.

December 1, 2009 at 11:45 pmI really liked the percussion on Stand and Sing. This is my first time listening to The Mercury Program and it’s nice. I like it. Fluorescent Laces reminds me of a funky sounding Pachuca Sunrise by Minus the Bear.

December 2, 2009 at 10:25 pmMercury Program is one of Florida’s most amazing bands. When they released their last record a friend of mine and I followed them around the state cause we thought it was going to be their last tour. Let me tell you one of the best moves of my life. I also can’t wait to get my hands on this new record. I know it will be a destroyer.

December 3, 2009 at 3:05 pmAh, great stuff. I swear I’m challenged in some way when it comes to finding good mellow music for mellow times, this is exactly what I need.
Keep doing it the way you’re doing it now.
