Ghostly Swim: 4.21.08
The next Tycho single drops April 21st, 2008 as part of the Ghostly International / Adult Swim compilation Ghostly Swim. The single is a live version of a working title from the forthcoming album. The Ghostly Swim compilation will be available as a free download from the Adult Swim website. The comp will feature the Tycho single along with tracks by other Ghostly artists; should be a great collection based on what I’ve heard of the lineup.
CORRECTION! So apparently this was *not* designed by Philistine (although I still love his work). I was misinformed and now am uninformed….So just waiting on the proper channels to fill me in on who designed this. I’ll let you know as soon as I do. Below it is a teaser video for the release featuring some cool branding work for the compilation.

April 16, 2008 at 5:28 amCongrats, Scott! Can’t wait to hear the new track, and that album cover is simply stunning. I’m thrilled to hear Ghostly worked with Adult Swim on this, probably the best entertainment company around.

April 16, 2008 at 3:00 pmI’m looking forward to hearing this compilation and am very happy to see something like this up for a free download to the people :-)
Scott: So this single is a live version, do you like doing a lot of live versions for releases? I really enjoy your live work and was a little curious.

April 18, 2008 at 12:50 pmI think both Adult Swim and Stones Throw benefitted greatly from coming together to bring some good original music to fans.
Warm & Scratchy was the first notabel change from the underground hip-hop sound the compilations were beginning to take on, and that’s how I got into Asobi Seksu.
I only wish Adult Swim would release some of that awesome jazz music they used to run in 05 and 06 (im not sure if they still do, as I haven’t watched Adult Swim on TV for yrs — no time anymore…although I do visit the site and have been known to enjoy the occasional Tim & Eric skit)
Can’t wait, Scott!!

June 24, 2008 at 11:42 amHey Scott – not sure if you read replies to old posts but here goes. Just thought I’d like to say how great this album is to design to. I’m constantly on the lookout for new music that isn’t too ‘lyrics heavy’, as to not be too distracting while designing.
This is another reason why I love your music. Despite the tunes being great on their own, they are awesome to design to as it is simply great background music, and it’s strangely inspirational, as it’s music created by another graphic designer.
I’ve always thought an album compilation series should be created with a title like “Music for Designers”, or something similar. Often I see designers write in blogs and recommend background music with minimal lyrical content….
If it were made up of tunes with a similar feel to yours – I’d buy it every time.
