Impossible Project PX 70 Color Film

Posted by Scott

You may remember Impossible Project as the company that’s been promising to revive the recently-defunct Polaroid instant film brand. They delivered partially in March with the sepia PX 600 but now they’re finally offering full color film with their PX 70 product. The results (you can see some in this gallery – towards bottom of page) are a bit washed out for my tastes, I still would prefer the expired Spectra they offer. But it’s a step in the right direction for now.

Funny that you posted this. I acquired an old Polaroid 600 Business edition camera a little while ago and I literally received the sepia PX 600 film a few days ago. I was skeptical that the camera would even power on. To my surprise, it did power on and even spit out the cover that came on the film. It was looking promising for a moment; however, I came to find that my camera would not actually take a photo…I don’t know if there is something wrong with the trigger or if I am doing something else wrong but regardless I was a hugely disappointed. Anyways, I’m jealous of those who still have one of those older working models.

Brent: I have found that the shutter button on my 600 takes a while to actually trigger the shutter. Just pressing the button does not work; I have to hold the button part way, wait for a bit, then press it again.

It has a nice look to it, but i think its going to be much like the SilverShade series where the images just dont seem to go anywhere. You really have to make yourself like it.
I agree with the expired Spectra. Thats the most fun to shoot anyways if you are using the 1200si. The multiple exposures is just freakin great.

pretty much everything on the website was sold out…

I give it 3 weeks until apple releases an iphone app which makes your pictures look just like that… kinda… lol

I’ve played around with the PX 70 a bit and like it but am definitely looking forward to them perfecting their formulas. In the meantime I’m enjoying seeing how each batch gets better than the last while my wallet gets lighter.
