Cold War Kids
Posted by Scott
A friend turned me on to this album a while back and I’ve been getting into again lately. In this age of image-less MP3 downloads it’s easy to forget that’s there’s probably some great cover art behind the music you’re currently enjoying. Somehow I never noticed this cover until last week and I must say I really like it. I wish the lower portion was a little less busy, but overall it’s a great take on that 60’s jazz record vibe. And of course the music isn’t half bad either.

April 7, 2008 at 10:33 amI’m not sure the design is so wonderful, beyond its being an authentic of what so much trendy ‘good’ design of today emulates. It’s difficult to say, being decades out of context.

April 7, 2008 at 3:30 pmThe bassist of CWK, Matt Maust, does all their artwork. He had a gallery down here in LA last month but I found out too late to go.

April 7, 2008 at 9:35 pmI think Matt, the bands bassist, does most of the design work. Very good stuff – http://coldwarkids.com/photo.htm.
