Designspiration Job Board

Over the last few months I (Shelby) have been working on a number of large updates to Designspiration. The first of these updates is the job board. The goal of the job board is to help creatives find career opportunities at great companies.

There were a number of challenging aspects of building this site addition, but the main one was how to handle mobile. It’s not something I’ve done a whole lot of and just to complicate things, a new grid needed to be developed for the updates to follow. The restructuring of the grid took just about as much time to figure out as it did to build the job board itself. I’ll follow up this post after the next updates to talk more about making Designspiration fast on mobile (hint, hint).

If you know an agency or company looking to hire, post a job or let them know about the job board. Also, follow the Designspiration jobs twitter @Dspnjobs for job updates.

ISO50: Developer Wanted

Posted by ISO50

We’re looking for a developer! This would be a mostly contract position but could potentially be a long-term retainer situation as well. We’re looking for the following skills:

· WordPress – This is first and foremost, you must be very familiar with WordPress and WordPress plugin development and modification

· General Web – All the standard stuff, PHP, CSS, HTML, MYSQL, etc.

· Visual Design – Not absolutely necessary as we do all the design production in-house, but would be a big plus to have some sort of visual background.

Interested parties please email Studio (at) ISO50 (dot) com. Be sure to include some examples of your work and a list of proficiencies.

Thanks!

Hiring: UI/UX Designer

I’ve written about a few of my recent projects (404 Film, Nosh Promo, Firespotter Logo). These were all completed for Firespotter Labs, which is the startup I cofounded earlier this year. We started out with four of us and we are now thirteen, primarily engineers. Up until now, I’ve been the only designer. We are growing fast and the design needs of our company are such that one visually-minded pixel crusher is no longer enough. We are looking for another full-time interface designer.

Firespotter Labs is a startup. We are looking for someone that enjoys this kind of atmosphere. I’ve written a little bit about what it’s like and I couldn’t endorse it any more positively. Our first app launched about one month ago, so we are primarily working on it, but we have a couple other products in development that will need a lot of love.

If you’re interested, please email me at jobs[at]firespotter.com and use the subject line “Design Position”. We are looking for someone with a strong skillset in user interface design. Usability is key. If you can make things that look awesome as well, rock and roll. Please include a link to your portfolio and/or Dribbble. If you’ve worked on sites or apps in the past, it would be very helpful if you could link these as well.

We are hoping to fill this position as soon as possible.
