Legowelt Disco Rout

While discussing some plans for a future Tycho video with Ghostly, the Legowelt "Disco Rout" video by Brazilian firm Lobo.cx came up.  This was an incredible video at the time (2002, Ghostly International), and still is.  It’s like a bunch of European travel posters coming to life.  Lobo did a great job making it all feel authentic while lending a modern edge with the 3D work.  The song itself is amazing as well; the video fits it perfectly.  Listening to this track always makes me think of driving an ’84 BMW down the Autobahn at speed with perforated driving gloves and Ray Ban Pilots.  Jakub probably did that already, or at least mocked it up for a photo-op. See the video here >

great video.. the colour palette is so retro… I don’t know why it comes to my mind some old cigarrettes adverts when I see this…

I want to learn after… :)

I love Legowelt’s ongoing theme– cold war-era spy settings, this vid kind of has that tinge to it. Anyone ever hear Legowelt’s little project Squadra Blanco? The album was called Night of the Illuminati, there’s a track on there called Berg Hotel, one of my all time favorite IDM-ish tracks.

One vid I’ve always loved the design of is Royksopp’s Remind Me:

Definately check that out if you haven’t seen it, it’s got a wonderful color scheme and the “information architecture” is astounding!

It’s great Ghostly picked you up, they have an amazing team coming together…please push for a Rorschach Suite Pt. II!
