Name That Chair

Posted by Scott

Can you name this poor, unidentified chair? Some people were asking that same question in the comments of today’s Dieter Rams post so I thought I’d put it up in the hopes that someone out there can solve the mystery because, as Joe Clay put it, that is a damn sexy chair. Sound off in the comments. First correct answer gets a Tycho single!

By the way, how badass is Univers LT Std 39 Thin Ultra Condensed? Completely, is the correct answer.

Update: That was quick, Vito called it, it’s a 620 Chair by, of course, Dieter Rams. Here’s some very nice high res shots from the link vito Provided.

Hahaha, nice spontaneous post. I believe Vito wins straight out. We didn’t stand a chance.

Univers is just hot always, it makes me feel all warm inside, ya know?

ha, yeah….the timestamp on that comment was only 11 minutes after the post…pretty tough to beat. As Alex also said, I’m pretty bummed it wasn’t an office chair…was hoping for a nice replacement for my office depot aeron ripoff.

Heh, those Aeron ripoffs seem to be quite common, guess a lot of people don’t like forking out the copious amounts of bank for the real deal. It’s like if you visit a studio and see a board room completely kitted out with originals you can immediately profile them and say, “Hmm, these guys do okay”.

Yeah, sucks not having an “easily” accessible awesome office chair to buy, I’ve got a cheap guy that’s pleather and it’s cuffed badly. It’s either hard plastic or material for me in future, sweating sucks.

I think, as a rule, any chair that you can find high res images of is probably going to be pretty bad ass.

The whole chair was a bit of a bummer shape-wise, but at least this way I don’t have a mega expensive office chair I have to lust after. I do like the colors though- subtle and nice.
