Update: The 12″ is now available for Pre-Order at the ISO50 Shop.

The new Tycho single, Coastal Brake, is finally all set for release. Above you can see the 12″ vinyl cover art including the reverse and stickers. There is also a limited edition poster with alternate artwork folded into each vinyl sleeve — I’ll post more on that and the process of creating the artwork as we get closer to the release date.

I got the finished vinyl in the other day and they look great — I’ll post up some pics next week. The official release date for the vinyl and digital is December 8th but we will be taking pre-orders starting November 2nd at The ISO50 Shop. I’ll be posting more details as the become available. | Comment on this post

Update: apparently you can hear one of the remixes from the 12″ via the Ghostly Discovery App. If you dial in these mood settings, the resulting playlist should include the Lusine remix of Coastal Brake (you may have to click next a few times). Enjoy.

Agreed. Fantastic work. When the page loaded and I saw that first image, I knew it had to be Tycho stuff. Really awesome stuff, Scott. I can’t wait for my first opportunity to design for vinyl (hopefully soon).

Nice designs Scott, it’s nice to see the entire piece now.

The only things I don’t like is those little red numbers on the front, I find them quite distracting, taking focus away from the woman. The back feels impotent to me, like the album title should perhaps be larger to give it a sense of hierarchy.

Really love those stickers, especially that out-of-focus water one, that’s just hot. Great composition.

Please Scott, if you can update this post with anywhere that allows you to listen to the track, that would be appreciated. I’m super keen to hear your new song. Specifically the original version made by you, not the remixes.

Wow, just one word explains it all…”beautiful.” Love the entire system, your illustrations, colors and type are amazing. Can not wait to get my hands on this. You are such an inspiration.

Wow…You’ve created another masterpiece. I remember seeing this graphic back on the 9900 post and now finally seeing it in the artwork set, it is really stunning. I was really struck by your use of color and type treatment which is sitting on the page really nicely, breathing the negative space around surrounding it. I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m super exited about the release date because that is my birthday so it will be a nice gift for myself. I am definitely going to be on that pre-order for sure. Great work again Scott. Your work is truly inspirational. Thank you.

This is probably your best work I’ve seen to date. More mature than your usual retro-styled-heavy-layered-distressed-vector-photo thing. This one is not pretending to be anything, do you get what I mean? Also on some of your stuff I can sort of see Photoshop shining through (even though you work hard to get an analog feel). I don’t see PS tracers on this piece. Classic.

Brilliant artwork/design Scott. Once again you never cease to amaze with your inspiration, taste, and then of course your work.

Love the track, I heard it about a week ago on the Ghostly app and was like…is that what I think it is? Very nice, I’m liking the slightly new direction in sound for you.

Also love the print work.

Beautiful work as always Scott. Even though you are streets ahead of me in terms of design talent, I can still see that you are maturing all the time with your work, this for me is another level for you. Really like it.

This is cool Scott. I was a little disappointed last time I ordered your 12″ sampler. I though I would get some cool artwork and got a generic sleeve instead. So I’m stoked about this one. Thanks for thinking of us analog freaks.

I agree with Mr Mustard. Not that your old stuff was bad (on the contrary!) but the ‘Huron Spectrum’, ‘Skyway’, ‘Command’ and ‘Dual’ posters wer a bit too much. And a bit too fabricated.
This seems pretty much like a new artwork phase for you. I think you’re pushing yourself even further.

Beautiful artwork, especially the back actually blew me away. Was waiting for this piece to pop up, after seeing it here before (in de printer video?).

Keep on going, this is awesome!

Scott,
I get reborn in my love for design when I view your work!

I have never seen another digitally trained artist who can continually improve and blend his style in such a new and forward thinking way. I hope you keep sharing your mind with us.

Fantastic! I have to admit, sometimes I feel you are running around in circles with your own style, but this is something different and really a wonderful step forward! GOOD LUCK!

A thing of beauty. Haven’t bought any vinyl in a long time, although I own plenty from a while back. This is being purchased. Love it Scott.

Scott, please make more and add them to the store. You have my word that I will buy a poster of this, perhaps 2, one for my house and one for the office. Beautiful and highly inspirational. Can’t wait to hear this.

By far one of the best pieces you’ve ever produced. Can’t wait to hear what you have in store for us fans in the music department. I showed my dad your music and he plays it all the time in his observatory now.

So stop being a God damn perfectionist and put the album out already! It’s been like 84 years since your last one. Or something like that.

Amazing graphics and layout. Just love the pose of the woman, the kind of coffee mug stain, and then lens flare… combined the colors and typography, great great stuff. Can’t wait to hear the music to go along with this.

I definitely second perkola’s question. I’d LOVE to have that design on a shirt.

Thank you for your music. I can’t get enough of it. You’re a godsend.

@Scott Can’t wait to hear the new music. I’ve been wondering (unrelated to this post) what plugin(s) are you using to get the ‘featured post’ with images on the sidebar; and which for the ‘Share on Facebook’ & ‘Tweet This’ links. Thanks.

Was going to say I wish this was being released on CD, but realized that in large part I just buy them for the artwork anyway. So I think I’ll be buying this beautiful vinyl.
