Freddie Hubbard+Lissvik+Twine+Grouper

I would never deny a song that has this intro from this Freddie Hubbard song, so if anyone starts a song out like this then I am all yours until the end.
D. Lissvik is one half of Studio which have produced one of my favorite albums of 2008 so this must be good. I’ll post that list closer to January for everyone.
One of the sleeper records this year is the Twine album, if you haven’t seen the cover then you need to it’s right here and that’s also where you can find this song Endormie for free to download.
Grouper is band that i’m still checking out but this song stuck out for me among the rest. I read about them earlier today in an interview with Telefon Tel Aviv, so it must be good hah.

Jakub, I’m with Carryout– thanks for posting this Hubbard song, it uplifts my spirit this early morning and reminds me that it’s Friday! I would love to hear more electronic musicians make use of some of these sounds, esp those horns!
If you guys are diggin Freddie, check out some Gil Scott-Heron if you’ve never delved beyond My Way Home and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. He did a number of jazzy, soul-filled albums with Brian Jackson. Rivers Of My Fathers, Back Home, The Bottle, A Toast To The People, and Your Daddy Loves You are some great tracks between Winter In America and From South Africa To South Carolina.

Yeah Scott, good catch…the open of that Hubbard track is excellent. Very warm.
I’ve always liked Freddie’s FIRST LIGHT…its a long track, nice to put on when waking up in the AM. After a bit of horn wailing there’s some nice melody when the bass and strings kick up a bit…

Thanks so much for that Freddie Hubbard track. That was awesome. But Im looking for this song and cant find the one with the lyrics. He sounds like Al Jarreau. I only get instrumental tracks. Can you tell me where you found this one?
