Tycho Adult Swim Bumps
Posted by Scott
I am about as big a fan of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim’s work as exists on this planet. So it was a very, very pleasant surprise to see that [adult swim] (the network that features one of Tim and Eric’s greatest works: the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! show) was running a bump featuring Cloud Generator and a shout for the Past is Prologue digital reissue after the show. If anyone from [as] is reading this, thank you!
adult swim has run some other bumps in the past featuring Tycho tracks, you can check them out here. Was cool to find all of those, I had only seen one and didn’t know the rest existed.

I heard one of your tunes on AS the other night. Congrats dude. Super stoked for you. *high five*
One of my other favorite things AS did was during the late night airings of King of the Hill. The little musical segue between the show and the commercials showing the pictures of the cowboys doing cowboy shit. I loooove those cowboy pictures. So rad.

I was watching that when they aired the song and started freaking out! “It’s Tycho, they’re playing Tycho! Ahhhhhhh!” Unfortunately the people watching with me were not familiar with your work and did not understand. It was cool though, I was excited. Great Job!

I wondered – if Scott was watching his bump.
And if anyone else knew of Tycho in manner I know of…

My brother and I noticed it playing the other night in between shows. Congrat, Scott!

Scott would this be the first time you were exposed like this in broadcast media format? It being late night I’m sure there is still a big audience on that cable network.

Sorry, I just realized you had previous bumbs… I guess it was a pretty satisfying feeling to know you were featured in broadcast media though. Not that its totally relevant for your medium to grow now days..,

I loved her, ya blew it.
yeah, but those other bumps were anonymous. This is definitely the first time there’s been any specific reference with information and all that.

I was beginning to think I was the only one hearing those…
Definitely way good to hear quality sounds coming from my TV set.

i’m an animator at a sister studio of AS here in Atlanta…haha unfortunately though we’re far from the department that does these bumps. but i’ll accept your “thank you”!
did they just pick Tycho at random or did yall submit something?

I’m glad to be one of many people who is the only one in the room who knows what that 4 second jingle is from! Tim & Eric rules.

Man, I’ve been a huge fan of yours for, jeeze, I don’t know, 6 years now? Your music has really been something I can hear time and time again. One of the only CD’s I’ve ever bought rather than pirate is Past is Prologue, and as soon as I get settled I plan on buying the record. My point is, I’m glad your getting some publicity, I saw you on the Ghostly Swim album, and I hope ya get paid, but I hope you never end up to deep in the main stream.

I’m confused. You did not previously know your tunes would be featured on AS? As in, they did not license the tracks from you??
If you’re stoked, I’m stoked (for you). But I’m reading this like you had no idea prior to the airing. Is that the case?
Scott says:June 28, 2010 at 4:27 pm
the label (ghostly) handles this type of stuff so I don’t usually hear about it until later (if ever). Always cool to be surprised by this sort of thing. But no, [as] didn’t license the tracks, they aren’t really using it for commercial purposes so it’s beneficial to both sides.

What is the name of this song?
It seems to be Brother, but I can’t hear the part they used for the bumper.
I like the song!!! Help!!!

you should really send a copy of your music to http://pitchfork.com/contact/. Trust me if they like what they hear they will get the word out to millions like [as]. I’m listening to Coastal Brake right now and it sounds great so keep up the good work. As a blogger you should know the gravity of the internet.

James I’m pretty sure the Tycho name is well known around the blogosphere, dude has been out for years with quality tunes. With all the obscure shit they find (like Green Gerry, a neighbor of mine) there’s no possible way they don’t know about him. sorry to come off as a dick, i’m on the toilet right now and my feces smells unnaturally bad
