The Drums+Washed Out+Solvent+Shlohmo

Posted by Jakub

The Drums official LP dropped this week, i’ve been waiting for this for almost year I think. I had them down as writing my favorite song of 2009, definitely a perfect album to listen to while having fun with friends.

Washed Out is back and collaborates with Chairlift’ Caroline Polachek, a somber tempo and shows us that he’s on a great path of being able to make this sound something more than just a trendy genre, I hope to hear more.

Solvent’s new video debuted on Self-Titled’s site today and I had to share it with you, try not to fall in love with the characters that are playing the synths. I included the Vector Lovers remix below which is solid.

Shlohmo announced his upcoming EP called Camping which features a really nasty Shigeto remix, the EP also includes a remix by Baths and a few new cuts by the young talent.

Not sure if it’s me or the server, but nothing happens when I try to play The Drums track. Other tracks are ok.

Ooo, that Washed Out song is a beauty! Is that a little Madonna I hear in there? Sounds like the intro to “Lucky Star”. Not ashamed to have known that. I rocked out to her classics at numerous slumber parties back in the day.

*The Drums doesn’t play for me either.

Should be good to go, for some reason only half of it uploaded, I have the worst wireless in Brooklyn and i’m sitting like 3 feet from my $100 router which is suppose to be bursting out the highest speed Time Warner offers : /

I’m in love with the Shigeto mix, his mixes continually amaze me yet Textures and Semi Circle EP are just ok.

Excellent stuff!

The song on the Solvent video is hot. I’m not a huge Solvent fan (and his style reminds me of a song from a Geico commercial) but if his work progresses more in the vein of that video… yum.
