ISO50 Free Workshop – Tromso Norway

Posted by Scott

I just arrived in beautiful Newark for a brief layover before the second leg of my trip. I’ll be flying into Oslo and then on to Tromsø for the Insomnia Fesitval. I’m doing an ISO50 workshop on Friday at Verdensteatret Cinematek. The workshop is free (thanks to Insomnia,, and Grafill) — you can register here.

I’ll be covering a lot of ground during this one, walking through the process of creating the new Tycho album cover and talking about graphic design in general. Space is limited so be sure to register.

I’ll also be playing a Tycho live set at Insomnia on Satuday night. Hope to see you all out there. I just finished one of the worst salads ever at the Sam Adams Brew Club at Newark and they’re calling for first boarding so I’m off to Oslo. See you in Norway.

Are you going to record this and post it for people like me who live in the Andean mountains? The new album cover is so nice.

Hey Scott, have you ever considered releasing one of the .psd’s for your work on the blog? i’ve always been really curious as to how these were put together and i remember James White of signalnoise doing something similar a few months back

Explosions are good. Scott, ever considered heading out to Vancouver, Canada? I’ve always wanted to witness one of your live sets and especially an ISO50 workshop. I’m a big fan of your work on both the music and design scenes!

Another request for a recording :) I so wish I could be there, but being on the other side of the world makes it hard on such short notice :( (not that I’d have the moneys to go even if I did have notice, but that’s another story)

Love your work!

Haha, well, I had to take a day off from a steak that must have been pretty dodgy.

I agree with ji, would be nice if a workshop got recorded and was released on the blog here. I like to hear how different people tackle problems and process.

Heck, recording a workshop most likely a mission. Trying to get someone there with you or asking the organization. You could however, do one at your home studio? Could kinda be like a podcast or something. Just as an idea / suggestion.

Man, worst time ever to be sick. I’ve been wanting to go since I first heard of this a few months back, but sadly I’m still ill. Hope you do enjoy Norway, so maybe sometime you’ll come back again, as both tycho and iso50. Cheers from Trondheim, which you flew over 1 hour after take off in Oslo.

Hi Scott,

Humble Greetings to you !

I thank you firstly for being such a wonderful inspiration for all the fellow designers. Also i want to thank you for your efforts in helping budding artists and beginners like me to know the process how you create your wonderful artwork. Its really exciting to know that you are having a workshop but unfortunately being on the other side of the world i would be not able to attend and am already started regretting on that. It would be really helpful if you could have a recording of the event or may be a screencast of the proposed workshop and put it on your website please. it would really mean a lot for all your fans.

I thank you in advance for all your help and inspiration.

Kindest Regards

For a second I was considering to book a flight, but how do you get there? It’s so extremely remote; even for Europeans. That kinda sucks.
But seems wonderful, enjoy it!

hey everybody… wanted to get back to you on the recording thing: I am not sure what the event organizers have planned, I will check with them tomorrow before the workshop.

I will be doing two more this year, one in amsterdam and one in toronto, so I will try and get those setup to record if this one doesn’t work out.

sorry it’s such a remote location, I know it’s hard for people to make it out here. once the album is done I will have a lot more time to do more events like this so hopefully I’ll make it to a town near you.
